Barry Braverman has been in the mortgage business since 1976. He started out as a Loan Officer for a local mortgage brokerage in Aptos, California and soon became the top producer in the office. He was promoted to Branch Manager in 1977, when the brokerage was bought out by Mortgage Bankers Service Corporation, headquartered in Monterey, California. In 1978, he became the youngest Branch Manager for Mason-McDuffie Investment Company's mortgage division in the company's history (since 1887). In 1982, Barry left Mason-McDuffie to form his own new mortgage company: New Equities Mortgage Corp. With almost 35 years in business, it is now the longest established mortgage brokerage in Santa Cruz County. Barry holds an MBA Degree in Finance with a specialty in Real Estate from San Jose State University and a Certificate of Personal Financial Planning from the University of California Silicon Valley Extension. He has originated over 5,000 new mortgage loans in his career and funded over $1 Billion in volume in California mortgages, both for purchase and refinance.
